Views on nuclear weapons:

On 14 March 2007 voted against the Government motion which called for the renewal of Trident

Replied to survey in November 2006 saying he was opposed to replacing Trident and said "I fully support the aims of Scotland's for peace and reiterate the SNP's opposition to Nuclear weapons. I will certainly vote against any moves to replace Trident with a new generation of Nuclear Weapons "
