Views on nuclear weapons:

On 14 March 2007 voted against the Government motion which called for the renewal of Trident

Likely to follow Menzies Campbell's lead and vote against the Government's proposal.

Replied to survey in November 2006 asking if she would oppose the upgrading or replacing of Trident, Not decided and said "as the Government have not yet published the information they have as regards assessments of the future security theats and so on. I join the rest of my Party in calling for a full Parliamentary debate, and asking the Defence Secretary to map out the Government's position on the future of the nuclear deterrent and the options it is considering. Until we have a full and frank debate, I think it is impossible to make an informed decision on the subject of Britain's future nuclear deterrent."

Supported EDMs 1113 and 1197 , and 1802 calling for a debate on Trident replacement
