Views on nuclear weapons:

On 14 March 2007 voted against the Government motion which called for the renewal of Trident

Replied to survey in November 2006 saying he was opposed to upgrading or replacing Trident and said "It makes no sense to spend £10bn or more to replace a weapon that no person would ever use"

"Nuclear proliferation can only end when countries like the UK stop replacing weapons of mass destruction like Trident" - response to Scottish CND survey in June 2005.

Supported EDMs 72, 1113 and 1197 calling for a debate on Trident Replacement
Hosted a meeting on Trident replacement between MPs and representatives of civic Scotland following their visit to Aldermaston in June 2006.
