Voted for motion which opposed the renewal of Trident

Made her first speech in the Parliament in this debate. She said -

"Trident is economically inept, morally repugnant and spiritually bereft. ... Defence may be reserved in the strict legal terms of the Scotland Act 1998, but morality, decency and common sense are not. "
