Views on nuclear weapons:

Replied to survey in November 2006 saying he is opposed to the upgrading or replacing of Trident and said "Scotland needs to rid itself of these WMD's. It is clear that no UK Government will get rid of these immoral weapons. Only an Independent Scotland will be able to eliminate all Nuclear weapons from our soil, sea and air"

Replied to survey in June 2005 saying he was opposed to Trident replacement and said "Nuclear weapons have no place in a modern Scotland and we should rid ourselves of these WMDs as soon as possible rather than wasting billions replacing them"
