Trident Debate 14 June 2007 :
Views on nuclear weapons:

Replied to survey in November 2006 and said:

"I will oppose the upgrading or replacement of the Trident nuclear weapon system.

"I have long argued that politics is all about priorities, and we shouldn't elect politicians who give a greater priority to building and maintaining weapons of mass destruction to kill the people of other lands, than to looking after the people in our own.

"When people like Blair and Brown argue that we need nuclear weapons we have to ask them just who is that we hate so much we want to wipe them off the face of the earth, because that is the reality of a nuclear strike.  Whose children is it that Blair and Brown want to vaporise, and why?

"There is no justification for the existence of Trident and we must oppose any upgrading or replacement of the system."

Trident Debate 21 December 2006:
Voted for SNP motion and for Lib Dem amendment opposing Government plans to replace Trident.
Trident Debate September 2006:
