Voted for motion which opposed the renewal of Trident

Supported Elaine Smith's amendment before the debate.

Views on nuclear weapons:

Replied to survey in November 2006 saying she was opposed to the upgrading or replacing of Trident and said:

"I am opposed to the replacement of Trident as it could escalate rather than diminish the possibility of nuclear conflict.

"Upgrading this instrument of nuclear war will waste many billions of pounds that morally should be spent on creating a more just and peaceful society through investment in health, education, housing and jobs.

"Renewing the Trident nuclear missile system would stand against the UK Government's commitment made in 2005 at the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference to 'accomplish the elimination of nuclear arsenals'"

Replied to survey in June 2005 saying she was opposed to replacing Trident
