Trident Debate 14 June 2007 :

George Foulkes abstained on the motion which opposed the renewal of Trident

In contributions to the debate he argued that the Scottish Parliament should not talk about Trident. He said - "I am prepared to defend our position, but I will defend it in a forum that has responsibility for the issue, and not here, where we have no such responsibility."

In response Linda Fabiani said - "When George Foulkes has been here for a while longer, he will see that we are not a parish council but a Parliament with the right to reflect what people are thinking."
