Replied to a letter from Scotland's for Peace saying that he would vote against the replacement of Trident..

"In can confirm that my thoughts on this matter, are very closely aligned to your own and find it hard to accept the UK Government's position on signing up to a new generation of nuclear weapons, when they can't even equip our forces with basis essentials to help them both do their job and protect themselves from cowardice bombs along the roadside.

"At a time when we are basically in liquidation as a country, we really do need to look at what our priorities are. We also need to look at how we address the rusting old nuclear subs that are sitting in Faslane still waiting decommissioning. No one knows where they will store all old spent uranium rods, the legacy of our nuclear energy programme that is now being decommissioned.

"I would hope that Scotland some day wil rid itself of such dangerous pollutants that have a very long shelflife.

"The Unionist political parties all have a lot to answer for and I would like the opportunity of taking them on, down in Westminster."
