On 21 September 2011 Scotland's for Peace, the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) held a conference in the Scottish Parliament with speakers from Sweden, Ireland, England and Scotland. Proposals for an alternative approach to security in Scotland were discussed at a seminar on 27 August 2011 (papers).
